Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how UDECISION (“UDECISION”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use our Chrome extension and related services.
Information received from Chrome APIs and web pages is used only as necessary to provide the extension's disclosed purpose: helping freelancers evaluate Upwork opportunities and prepare clearer, more relevant applications. We do not sell user data or use it for personalized advertising, creditworthiness, or lending decisions.
Information we handle
How we use information
- To analyze Upwork opportunities and provide job-fit insights.
- To use relevant freelancer profile information to make those insights more useful.
- To generate or improve proposals and answers to client questions at your request.
- To check and improve grammar, clarity, structure, and professional tone.
- To authenticate your account and provide account-related functionality.
- To maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the extension and its services.
Information stored locally
The extension uses Chrome storage for settings and application state between sessions. Depending on the features you use, local storage can include account identifiers, preferences, profile information, job-analysis information, proposal-related state, and credit-related application state.
Information sent to our servers
When you request AI-powered functionality, relevant information may be transmitted to our backend so the requested feature can be performed. For example, a job analysis request may include job information and relevant freelancer profile information; a proposal or client-question request may include the information necessary to generate that response.
We do not use this information for unrelated advertising or sell it to data brokers. We only transfer user data when the transfer is necessary to provide the extension's disclosed functionality, comply with law, or protect the service and its users.
Third-party services
UDECISION relies on third-party infrastructure and services to operate features such as authentication, hosting, and AI processing. These providers may process information only as necessary for the services they provide to us. The specific providers used by a deployment may change as the service evolves; we will update this policy when a change materially affects how user data is handled.
If you use Google sign-in, Google processes authentication information according to Google's own policies. We do not receive your Google password through the extension.
Upwork
UDECISION is an independent tool and is not operated by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Upwork. Information displayed on Upwork is subject to Upwork's own terms and privacy practices.
Data sharing and sale
We do not sell your personal information or Upwork-related content. We do not transfer user data to advertising platforms or data brokers for targeted advertising. We do not use user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by the service. Data transmitted between the extension and our backend is sent over HTTPS. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods can vary depending on the information and feature involved.
To request deletion of information associated with your account, contact us using the address listed on our Contact page. We may need to verify the request before completing it.
Your choices
- You can stop using the extension at any time.
- You can remove locally stored extension data through Chrome.
- You can choose what job or profile information to use with the extension.
- You can request deletion of account information by contacting us.
Children
UDECISION is intended for professional users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. We will update the effective date when changes are made and provide additional notice where required.
